Harmon Killebrew hit a homerun as the Brooklyn Dodgers defeated the Washington
Nationals by a score of 5 to 1 at Griffith Stadium.

Brooklyn set the tone of the game in the first inning as they scored 2 runs on
2 base hits. The early run support proved sufficient for Bob Buhl(2-1) and
Brooklyn. That was all the run support Buhl required. Brooklyn and
Washington each finished the afternoon with 8 hits.

The loss was charged to Don Newcombe(1-2). He served up 4 gopher balls in 9
innings.
