Harry Simpson had 4 hits and 2 RBI at Wrigely Field where the Washington
Nationals beat the Chicago-NL Cubs 4 to 3.
The game was won by Washington with a run in the top of the 9th inning. After
an out was recorded, Gus Bell lashed a single. Simpson came to the plate and
tripled scoring the run. Washington had 14 hits for the afternoon while
Chicago-NL had 8.
Al Aber(1-0) went 2/3 of an inning allowing no runs for the victory. Aber got
help from Roy Face who earned his 6th save. Tom Gorman(1-3) was the loser in
relief.
