The Washington Nationals and the Pittsburgh Pirates locked up in an exciting
one-run game at Forbes Field.  The final score was the Washington Nationals
3, the Pittsburgh Pirates 2 in 13 innings.

Both teams were tied at 2 runs apiece after nine innings.  Washington ended up
winning it in the 13th inning.  Murry Dickson doubled.  After an out was
recorded, Harvey Kuenn stepped up to the plate and he drew a walk.  Joe
Adcock then doubled scoring the run.  Washington totaled 8 hits on the night.

The victory was credited to Dickson(2-0) who went 12 innings, allowing 2 runs.
Roy Face gained credit for his 3rd save.  Jack Harshman(1-1) was the loser in
relief.  He allowed 3 hits and 3 walks in 4 innings.
