Al Kaline cleared three ducks from a very crowded pond with a grand slam at
Municipal Stadium as the Cleveland Indians beat the Kansas City Athletics 9
to 6.

Paul Foytack(3-6) labored throughout the game but hung around to record a
victory.  He gave up 6 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings and surrendered 4
'long-bombs'.  Don Mossi came throught with a perfect ninth inning to earn
his 2nd save.  

Frank Lary(5-4) was hit with the loss.  He was hit hard and gave up 12 hits
and 5 walks in 8 innings.
