TEAM RISP- Athletics: 7 for 18 Cubs: 6 for 17

Second baseman Steve Yerkes had 2 base hits and 3 RBI at West Side Park as the
Philadelphia Athletics beat the Chicago Cubs by the count of 10 to
7.

Chicago was unable to claim the lead after Philadelphia went ahead in the 6th
inning when they tallied 2 runs on 3 hits. Philadelphia bats were very
productive in the 4th inning when they had 3 runs on 4 hits and the 8th
inning which saw them score 3 runs on 5 hits. Chicago scored in 5 different
innings, but their shaky pitching kept them from victory.

The victory was credited to Al Demaree(4-0) who went 5 innings, allowing 5
runs. Demaree got help from Pat Ragan who earned his 5th save. Dick
Rudolph(6-4) was given the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 19 hits
and 2 walks in 8 innings.
