The Brooklyn Dodgers got by the Washington Nationals in 10 innings at Ebbets
Field.  The final score was 4 to 2.

The score was knotted at 1 after nine innings.  Brooklyn came out on top in
the 10th inning.  After an out was recorded, Walt Dropo jump-started the
rally as he drew a walk.  One out later, Sherm Lollar came to the plate and
doubled scoring a single run.  Stan Musial then cracked a two-run shot giving
Brooklyn the win as 21,657 happy fans joyfully celebrated.  Neither team was
able to score until the 8th inning.  

Clem Labine(2-4) was the winner allowing 1 run in 2 innings. Roy Face(1-4) was
hit with the loss in relief.  He surrendered 2 hits and 1 walk in 2/3 of an
inning.
