The Chicago Cubs had very little trouble at West Side Park downing the
Philadelphia Athletics. The score was 7 to 2.
Chicago wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning scoring 2 runs.
After an out was recorded, Dode Paskert jump-started the rally as he drew a
walk. Art Wilson came to the plate and tripled scoring a single run. Beals
Becker then would ground out scoring the final run of the inning. Chicago
finished with 9 hits while Philadelphia ended up with 3.
The win went to Russ Ford(4-5) who allowed 2 runs in 8 innings. Jeff
Tesreau(4-2) ended up with the loss. By surrending 6 runs in 4 innings his
ERA jumped from 2.82 to 3.55.
