Right fielder Harry Simpson hit a homerun and had 2 RBI and Warren Spahn had a
strong outing at Municipal Stadium as the Washington Nationals beat the
Kansas City Athletics 7 to 1.

Spahn(3-2) gave Washington a solid outing.  He gave up just 5 hits and 1 walk
