George Burns hit for the cycle and had 3 RBI as the Washington Nationals
defeated the St. Louis Browns by a score of 4 to 3 at Sportsman'S Park.

The St. Louis fans didn't appreciate the big day Burns had. He doubled in the
1st inning, smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in the 5th inning, tripled
bringing in two baserunners in the 7th inning and stroked a base-hit in the
9th inning. St. Louis tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.

Jean Dubuc(1-0) went 7 innings allowing 3 runs for the victory. Dubuc was
helped out by Joe Boehling who recorded his 1st save. Pol Perritt(1-3)
suffered the loss.
