Frank Lary threw a 2 hit shutout at Municipal Stadium where the Kansas City
Athletics beat the Pittsburgh Pirates by the score of 2 to 0.

Lary(5-3) simply dominated Pittsburgh.  He gave up just 2 hits and 2 walks in
9 innings improving his ERA from 4.90 to 4.26.  Kansas City totaled 8 hits on
the night.  

Dick Donovan(3-5) took the loss.  'Lary pitched a gem of a game', Andy Spector
recounted.  'He kept our batters off balance the entire game.'
