Robin Roberts allowed Wayne Wilson to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete
game and right fielder Del Ennis had 4 hits and 4 RBI as the New York Yankees
defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates by the score of 9 to 4 at Forbes
Field.

Ennis was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided
much of the offense for the visitors. He popped a two-run clout over the
fence in the 1st inning, delivered a single in the 5th inning, doubled
bringing in two baserunners in the 6th inning and doubled in the 9th inning.
New York totaled 13 hits on the afternoon.

Roberts(2-1) was the winner allowing 4 runs for the game. Allie Reynolds(1-6)
was given the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 12 hits and 5 walks in
6 innings.
