At Municipal Stadium, the Cleveland fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel.
Tom Brewer(3-2) finally bested his Cleveland opposite, Paul Foytack(2-4), by
the score of 2 to 1.

The deciding run was scored by Cincinnati in the top of the 8th.  After an out
was recorded, Pee Wee Reese ripped a solo home run.  Cincinnati had just 5
hits for the afternoon.  

Brewer got relief help from Hank Aguirre who gained credit for his 1st save.
Foytack was the losing pitcher.  Despite losing, he struckout 12 Cincinnati
batters in 9 innings.  

'I struggled a bit out there today,' Brewer said, 'but I toughed it out and we
got the win.'
