Willie Jones smacked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Cleveland Indians
defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 5 to 3 at Forbes Field.

Jones enjoyed a big evening at the plate. He delivered a solo blast in the
3rd inning, bombed a two-run dinger in the 5th inning and slapped a base-hit
in the 7th inning. Pittsburgh had a chance in the 9th but they came up
short.

Paul Foytack(4-6) got the win allowing 3 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings. Don Mossi
earned his 3rd save. Herb Score(5-3) was the losing pitcher. 'I always am
most impressed when a pitcher finds a way to win even without his best
stuff,' Mel Gross said after the game. 'Foytack did not have command of his
pitches most of the night, but he proved he really knew how to pitch!'
