Bob Lemon was on top of his game, blanking Chicago-NL on just 2 hits as the
Kansas City Athletics topped the Chicago-NL Cubs by a score of 6 to 0 at
Wrigely Field.
Wally Moon provided much of the offense. He singled in the 1st inning,
launched a three-run homer in the 2nd inning and tripled in the 4th inning.
The pitchers took over after the 4th inning as neither team was able to score
again.
For Lemon(5-1) it was his 2nd shutout this year. Tom Gorman(1-4) was tagged
with the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 16 hits and 3 walks in 9
innings.
