In a good matchup it was the streaking Detroit Tigers 10, the Washington
Nationals 7 at Navin Field.

In the 7th inning Detroit scored 8 runs with the help of 6 hits.  The critical
plate appearance was by Johnny Evers who excited the crowd when he ripped a
base-hit bringing home two baserunners.  Despite losing, Washington out-hit
Detroit 13 to 10.  

The victory went to Harry Coveleski(5-1) who went 7 innings, allowing 4 runs.
Jean Dubuc(2-1) was the losing pitcher.  He got hit pretty hard, allowing 10
hits and 3 walks in 7 innings.  

With the win, Detroit continued their winning ways; their streak now stands at
