At Forbes Field the Cincinnati Reds outscored the Pittsburgh Pirates 5 to
2.

Cincinnati scored the decisive runs in a big 9th inning plating 3 runs on 4
hits.  Gil McDougald kicked off the action when he delivered a solo blast.
Wayne Belardi followed and he lined a single.  Tom Brewer then lined a
one-base hit.  Nellie Fox was up next and he drew a walk to load the bases.
Pee Wee Reese stepped into the box and doubled with two more runners crossing
home.  Cincinnati banged out 10 hits on the afternoon.  

Brewer(9-5) went 8 innings allowing 2 runs for the win. Don Bessent was
credited with his 6th save.  Herb Score(6-4) took the loss.  He pitched 8
innings allowing 10 hits and 4 walks.
