WEB GEMS- Top 2nd: George Cutshaw robbed Fred Luderus of a base hit.

Dick Rudolph didn't allow a hit until the 10th inning at Fenway Park where the
Chicago Cubs beat the Boston Red Sox in 12 innings 6 to 1.

Both teams were tied at 1 runs apiece after nine innings. Chicago came out on
top in the 12th inning. The biggest moment was provided by Chief Meyers who
deflated the spirits of the home town crowd when he laced a base-knock
bringing home two baserunners. Chicago totaled 10 hits on the afternoon.

Rudolph(10-4) finished the game allowing 1 run in the victory. The
right-handed Rudolph had his no-hit bid broken up by George Burns who singled
with one out in the 10th inning. Pete Schneider(3-3) took the loss in
relief. He gave up 5 runs in 3 innings of work.

'I thought it was my best performance in a long time,' said Rudolph. 'I had
good command early in the game. I had my control and composure and everything
went well.'
