Cy Falkenberg had a strong outing as the New York Giants defeated the
Washington Nationals by a score of 4 to 2 at Polo Grounds.

New York came up with 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th inning. Roger Bresnahan
opened up the inning nicely when he drew a walk. Carl Weilman then uncorked
a wild one that found its way to the backstop. Dick Hoblitzell then drew a
walk. Bob Bescher followed and he drew a walk to load the bases. After an
out was recorded, Weilman then let one slip out of his hand for a wild pitch
resulting in a run. One out later, Cozy Dolan stepped up to the plate and he
tripled adding another two runs to their total. Washington had 5 hits in the
game while New York had 2, but New York had the more timely hits.

The win was credited to Falkenberg(2-8) who went the whole way allowing 2
runs. Weilman(4-12) absorbed the loss. He pitched 8 innings and surrendered
just 2 hits and 4 walks.
