Bob Rush allowed Gordy Renaud to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game at
Crosley Field as the Washington Nationals beat the Cincinnati Reds 5 to
3.

Washington came up with 3 runs in the 5th inning when they came up with 3 base
hits.  The critical plate appearance was by Harvey Kuenn who deflated the
crowd as he tripled bringing in two baserunners.  Washington had 9 hits for
the night.  

Rush(5-1) allowed 3 runs on the game. Art Fowler(6-6) took the loss.  He
