The Brooklyn Dodgers nipped the Pittsburgh Pirates 4 to 3 at Ebbets Field in a
hard fought contest.

Brooklyn took the lead for keeps in the bottom of the 7th inning scoring a
single run on 2 base hits.  Pittsburgh threatened in the 9th but Brooklyn was
able to put down the rally.  

Stu Miller(4-2) went 7 innings allowing 3 runs for the victory. Don Drysdale
gained credit for his 1st save.  Dick Donovan(4-8) was given the loss.
