WEB GEMS- Top 5th: Hank Bauer robbed Al Kaline of an extra base hit.

In a two run game the Cleveland Indians got by the Cincinnati Reds by the
score of 6 to 4.

Cleveland scored the winning runs in the top of the 8th inning as they scored
4 runs on 5 base hits. The big moment was provided by George Crowe who
deflated the mood of the partisan fans when he cracked a two-run shot.
Cincinnati was out-hit by Cleveland, 13 hits to 8.

Don Mossi(2-1) went 1 and 2/3 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Mossi
got help from Bud Byerly who earned his 9th save. Tom Morgan(0-1) suffered
the loss in relief. He was knocked around pretty good, giving up 4 runs in 2
innings.
