WEB GEMS- Top 2nd: Sherm Lollar blocked the plate, saving a run!

Right fielder Walt Moryn went deep as the Brooklyn Dodgers came back to win
one over New York-AL Yankees, 5 to 4.

Brooklyn scored the decisive runs in a big 9th inning plating 2 runs using 3
hits. Bill Sarni led off and started the rally when he hit a single. Jim
Gilliam stepped up next and he lined a base-hit. After an out was recorded,
Stan Musial then popped a two-run clout over the fence giving Brooklyn the
win as 7,418 happy fans joyfully celebrated. Both teams ended up with 9 hits
on the afternoon.

Ray Narleski(4-1) allowed no runs in 2 innings, and picked up the victory.
Lindy McDaniel(2-2) took the loss in relief. He pitched 2/3 of an inning and
surrendered 1 hit and no walks.

Jeff Pasley was all smiles after the ballgame, 'It sure was looking pretty dim
there for a while, but our guys never gave up - and neither did our fans -
they kept cheering us on. What a sweet win!'
