Left fielder Roy Sievers cracked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Don Larsen
retired 11 batters on strikeouts at Wrigely Field where the Washington
Nationals beat the Chicago-NL Cubs 6 to 2.

Sievers provided the offensive punch.  He cracked a two-run shot in the 4th
inning and smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in the 7th inning.  Washington
managed 7 hits in their victory.  

Larsen(5-4), allowing 2 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Tom
Gorman(3-6) was hit with the loss.  He served up 3 gopher balls in 6 and 1/3
innings.  

'I had my good stuff today.' Larsen said. 'As the game went along I started to
get the feeling that I was going to strike out a bunch of hitters.'
