Jake Beckley slammed a homerun and had 4 RBI as the Pittsburg Pirates
outscored the reeling Louisville Colonels 10 to 4.

The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Beckley.  He lost the ball over the fence for three runs in the
1st inning and laced a base-knock resulting in a run in the 7th inning.
Pittsburg kept the pressure on throughout the contest as they scored in 6
different innings.  

The victory went to Frank Killen(9-5) who went 8 innings, allowing 3 runs.
Jock Menefee(6-5) took the loss.  He was knocked around pretty good, giving
up 10 runs in 8 innings.
