Jim Lemon touched them all as the Chicago-NL Cubs defeated the Cincinnati Reds
by the score of 9 to 5 at Wrigely Field.

Cincinnati was unable to recover after Chicago-NL went ahead in the 3rd inning
plating an isolated run on 2 hits. Offensively, Chicago-NL was a juggernaut.
They scored in 6 separate innings.

Whitey Ford(5-5) allowed 3 runs in 6 innings, and picked up the victory. Ford
got relief help from Hersh Freeman who gained credit for his 2nd save. Tom
Poholsky(3-6) was the loser. He was touched for 4 homeruns in his 5 innings
of work.
