Bot 3rd: Roy McMillan robbed Gil Hodges of a base hit.
Top 4th: Frank Bolling robbed Al Smith of a base hit.

Ken Boyer touched them all and had 4 RBI at Municipal Stadium as the seemingly
unstoppable Kansas City Athletics beat the Brooklyn Dodgers by the count of
16 to 7.

Boyer helped send the fans home happy. He banged out a single which plated a
run in the 5th inning, smacked a one-base hit bringing in two baserunners in
the 6th inning and hit a bases-empty home run in the 7th inning. Kansas City
lit up the scoreboard in the 6th inning when they had 9 runs on 5 hits.
Kansas City had 15 hits for the afternoon while Brooklyn had 10.

The victory was credited to Bob Lemon(10-1) who went 7 innings, allowing 2
runs. Harvey Haddix(5-8) took the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 11 hits
and 5 walks in 5 and 1/3 innings.

Kansas City continued on their recent roll, their winning streak now reaching
8 games and counting. Jim Murphy was in a talkative mood after the ballgame.
'Fellows, I don't know what to tell you. our guys are just playing lights out
lately. Everything and everybody is just really hitting on all cylinders. I
know it can't last forever - but that isn't going to stop us from trying!'
