WEB GEMS- Top 4th: Dick Groat robbed Ray Jablonski of a base hit.
Top 7th: Cleveland turns a triple play!

Billy Pierce went the distance as the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the
Cleveland Indians by the score of 13 to 4 at Municipal Stadium.

Willie Mays was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine
day at their team's expense. He lashed a single plating two runs in the 2nd
inning and popped a two-run clout over the fence in the 4th inning.
Pittsburgh totaled 17 hits on the night.

Pierce(2-6), allowing 4 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Billy
Hoeft(4-7) was tagged with the loss. Pittsburgh knocked him around a bit, as
he gave up 8 runs in 2 innings.

With this win, Pittsburgh has a 29-29 record. They have been 5-5 lately. Mel
Gross was unhappy with his club's recent performance. 'We can't keep losing
games' he said. 'It gets to be embarrassing after a while.'
