Maxwell helped send the fans home happy. He lifted one out of the park for a two run home run in the 1st inning, popped a two-run clout over the fence in the 4th inning and laced a base-knock in the 6th inning. Chicago-NL was out-hit by Kansas City, 14 hits to 7. The victory went to Bob Lemon(7-1) who went 7 innings, allowing 2 runs. Mike Garcia(2-5) ended up with the loss.
