Del Crandall launched 2 homeruns as the Cincinnati Reds defeated the Brooklyn
Dodgers by a score of 9 to 3 at Ebbets Field.

Crandall was in a groove all day. The Brooklyn fans hated to see him
approaching the batter's box. He blasted a Grand Slam homerun in the 1st
inning, smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' in the 6th inning and doubled in the
7th inning. For the game Cincinnati out-hit Brooklyn 10 to 7.

Art Fowler(4-5) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 6 innings. Fowler
got relief help from Tom Morgan who gained credit for his 1st save. Harvey
Haddix(5-5) was hit with the loss. He was knocked around pretty good, giving
up 6 runs in 5 and 2/3 innings.

Crandall was in a good mood after the game, 'I'm just seeing and hitting the
ball real well now. I made some adjustments last week and they are paying
off. That's what this game is about. making adjustments as the season goes
along.'
