The mighty Kansas City Athletics bested the Cleveland Indians by a 8 to 4
score at Municipal Stadium.

Kansas City had 3 runs cross the plate in the 2nd inning with the help of 5
hits.  The key offensive moment was provided by Frank Robinson who made the
home-town crowd a happy bunch when he smashed a two-run homer.  Cleveland was
out-hit by Kansas City, 15 hits to 8.  

Lew Burdette(16-2) went 8 innings allowing 4 runs for the victory. Billy
Hoeft(5-9) was the losing pitcher.  He gave up 7 runs in 4 and 1/3 innings of
work.
