In a lop-sided win the Chicago-NL Cubs tallied 4 runs in the 5th inning and
ripped the New York-AL Yankees by a 11 to 6 count.

Eddie Mathews enjoyed a big day at the plate.  He ripped a single in the 1st
inning, stroked a one-base hit resulting in a run in the 6th inning and
lofted a three-run 'big-fly' in the 8th inning.  Chicago-NL totaled 15 hits
on the afternoon.
