Cleveland went ahead for good in the top of the 5th inning plating 2 runs
using 2 hits. Willie Jones led off and he reached on an error. George Kell
next to the plate and he doubled. Clemente then stroked a one-base hit which
was good for two runs. Brooklyn had a chance in the 9th but they came up
short.

Paul Foytack(6-11) was the winner allowing 3 runs in 7 and 1/3 innings. Don
Mossi preserved the game for Foytack, recording his his 8th save. Harvey
Haddix(8-10) took the loss.

Jeff Pasley was reflective after the loss, 'We should have won this one, we
just made one too many mistakes. Son-of-a-gun, that added a couple more
white hairs on this noggin of mine.'
