Ray Boone cracked a homer and had 2 RBI at Municipal Stadium where the
Washington Nationals beat the Kansas City Athletics 7 to 6.

The game was won by Washington with a run in the top of the 8th inning.  After
an out was recorded, Boone cracked a solo homerun.  Washington took care of
Kansas City with no trouble in the bottom of the 9th.  

Bob Rush(9-5) was the winner allowing 6 runs in 7 innings. Roy Face gained
credit for his 15th save.  Taylor Phillips(3-2) suffered the loss in relief.

Washington now has a record of 49-46.  With the loss Kansas City now has a
record of 72-31.
