Carl Furillo had 2 base hits and 3 RBI as the Chicago-NL Cubs beat the
Cleveland Indians by a score of 9 to 7.

Chicago-NL jumped out to the early lead in the first inning as they scored 5
runs on 3 base hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Furillo who
quieted the crowd when he lined a single which was good for two runs.
Cleveland threatened in the 9th but Chicago-NL was able to put down the
rally.

Robin Roberts(7-7) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 innings and allowing
4 runs. Roberts got help from Don Kaiser who earned his 3rd save. Paul
Foytack(4-11) was the losing pitcher.

Clint Courtney cracked 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI but his offense was not enough
to carry Cleveland to victory.
