Dutch Leonard struck out 14 batters as the streaking Detroit Tigers topped the
Brooklyn Dodgers by a score of 6 to 2 at Navin Field.
Leonard(12-3) gave Detroit a solid outing. He didn't give up much, just 5
hits and 3 walks in 8 innings. Detroit ended up with 10 hits for the game
while Brooklyn had 5.
Tom Seaton(5-5) was charged with the loss. He allowed 3 runs and 6 hits in 5
innings. Leonard was jubilant in the hometown clubhouse, 'It was a lot of
fun out there. The fans gave me a lot of support as did my teammates. We
got the victory and I'll sure take 14 strikeouts anytime!'
