One run was the difference at Yankee Stadium as the Brooklyn Dodgers scored 4
runs in the 5th inning and defeated the New York-AL Yankees 8 to 7.

Bill Bruton was a thorn in the side of the hometown fans as he enjoyed a fine
day at their team's expense.  He tripled plating two runs in the 1st inning
and launched a three-run homer in the 5th inning.  Overall Brooklyn out-hit
New York-AL 12 to 9.  

Clem Labine(3-7) got the win allowing 6 runs in 7 innings. Labine was helped
out by Ray Narleski who recorded his 10th save.  Brooks Lawrence(4-12) was
the loser.  Brooklyn scored big getting 8 runs off him in 6 innings.
