Right fielder Hank Bauer slammed 3 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Cincinnati
Reds defeated the Brooklyn Dodgers in 10 innings 6 to 5 at Crosley
Field.

The game was deadlocked at 5 after nine full innings.  Cincinnati was
victorious in the 10th inning.  After an out was recorded, Bauer ripped a
solo home run making Cincinnati victorious to the delight of the the home
town crowd.  For the game Cincinnati out-hit Brooklyn 13 to 9.  

The winning pitcher was Nellie King(3-0) who allowed no runs in 1 inning. Don
Drysdale(3-4) ended up with the loss in relief.  'They made a couple of
mistakes and I took full advantage,' Bauer said 'next time I'm sure they'll
pitch me tougher.'
