Tris Speaker cracked 2 homeruns and had 6 RBI and Ray Collins shutout St.
Louis while allowing the Boston bullpen a day-off as the Boston Red Sox
destroyed the lifeless St. Louis Browns by a score of 16 to 0 at Huntington
Ave Grnds.

Speaker provided much of the offense. He rifled a three-run blast in the 1st
inning, smashed a two-run homer in the 2nd inning, laced a base-hit knocking
in a run in the 6th inning and stroked a single in the 8th inning. Boston
bats were very productive in the 1st inning which saw them score 4 runs on 3
hits and the 2nd inning when they had 5 runs on 5 hits. Boston banged out 18
hits on the afternoon.

It was the 2nd shutout of the year for Collins(12-1). Barney Pelty(2-10) was
the loser. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 16 hits and 3 walks in 7 and 2/3
innings.

Speaker was jubilant after the game 'Let me see a box-score' he joked, 'I want
to see how that game looks on paper.'
