Wally Post slammed 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI and Billy Pierce held Washington
scoreless on just 2 hits as the Pittsburgh Pirates bested the Washington
Nationals 6 to 0 at Griffith Stadium.

Post had a good day at the plate.  He blasted a two-run home run in the 1st
inning and cracked a two-run shot in the 7th inning.  Pittsburgh finished
with 12 hits in the victory.  

Pierce(6-7) was credited with the shutout, his first of the year. Don
Larsen(6-8) took the loss.  He got hammered, allowing 9 hits and 4 walks in 6
and 1/3 innings.
