The Boston-AL Red Sox and the Philadelphia-AL Athletics locked up in an
exciting one-run game at Fenway Park. The final score was the Boston-AL Red
Sox 3, the Philadelphia-AL Athletics 2.

Philadelphia-AL surrendered all of the runs Boston-AL needed in the 7th inning
when they scored 3 runs on 4 hits. The highlight belonged to Jim Busby who
elicited a roar from the hometown fans when he laced a base-hit scoring two
baserunners. Philadelphia-AL threatened in the 9th but their rally came up
short.

Sheldon Jones(5-2) was the winner allowing no runs in 1 and 2/3 innings. Jones
got relief help from Joe Presko who gained credit for his 18th save. Mike
Garcia(16-6) ended up with the loss.
