The Brooklyn Dodgers nipped the ice-cold New York-AL Yankees 7 to 6 at Ebbets
Field in a hard fought contest.

Brooklyn erupted with the game winning runs in the 8th inning scoring 2 runs
utilizing 2 base hits. After two outs Roy McMillan began the Brooklyn spurt
when he ripped a one-base hit, and an error was also committed. Jackie
Jensen next to the plate and he cracked a two-run shot. New York-AL tried
unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.

Clem Labine(5-8) picked up the victory, allowing 5 runs in 8 innings. Don
Drysdale recorded his 4th save. Herm Wehmeier(4-7) absorbed the loss in
relief. He gave up 2 runs and 2 hits in 1 inning.

'It's a disheartening loss, no question about it' said Robert Baker 'But we
have to get over it and get ready for the next game.'
