Doc Ayers tossed a complete game and right fielder Benny Kauff had 4 hits and
2 RBI as the very potent Detroit Tigers defeated the Washington Nationals 5
to 2 at Navin Field.

Ayers(11-5) pitched a solid game.  He went 9 innings and surrended up 11 hits
and no walks.  Detroit banged out 9 hits on the afternoon.  

Eddie Cicotte(5-15) was the losing pitcher.  He pitched 8 innings giving up 9
