In a close game it was the very talented Philadelphia Athletics 6, the
Pittsburgh Pirates 4 at Shibe Park.
Jeff Tesreau(14-9) earned his pay with a solid performance for Philadelphia.
He went 7 and 2/3 innings allowing 7 hits and no walks. Tesreau got help
from Guy Morton who pitched a perfect ninth and was credited with his 9th
save.
Lefty Tyler(6-12) absorbed the loss. He gave up 6 runs in 5 and 2/3 innings
of work.
