Frank Lary went the distance at Crosley Field as the strong Kansas City
Athletics beat the Cincinnati Reds by the count of 8 to 3.

In the 3rd inning Kansas City scored 3 runs when they came up with 4 base
hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by Charlie Maxwell who deflated the
mood of the partisan fans when he launched a three-run homer. Kansas City
had 11 hits for the afternoon.

Lary(10-8) finished the game allowing 3 runs in the victory. Art Fowler(7-14)
was charged with the loss. He was knocked around, surrendering 5 runs in 4
innings.
