Sam Jones carried a no-hitter into the 6th inning and Elston Howard smashed 2
homeruns and had 3 RBI as the Chicago-NL Cubs smashed the overmatched league
door-mat New York-AL Yankees, 10 to 0.

Howard had a good day at the plate. He blasted a solo shot in the 6th inning
and smashed a two-run homer in the 7th inning.  Chicago-NL totaled 13 hits on
the afternoon.  

Jones(5-3) went the distance for the shutout.  The right-handed Jones had his
no-hit bid broken up by Vic Power who singled with one out in the 6th inning.
Vern Law(5-7) was hit with the loss.  He served up 6 homeruns in his 8
innings.
