TEAM RISP- Pirates: 10 for 23 Giants: 6 for 14
WEB GEMS- Bot 3rd: George Yeager blocked the plate, saving a run!

Ginger Beaumont had 6 hits and 5 RBI and Ed Doheny was able to finish what he
started and was credited with a complete game as the New York Giants were
badly beaten by the Pittsburg Pirates, 15 to 5.

Beaumont was a source of great heartache for the New York faithful all day.
He just kept pounding out hits! He ripped a base-hit bringing in a run in the
1st inning, lined a single which plated a run in the 2nd inning, delivered a
solo blast in the 4th inning, delivered a one-base hit in the 6th inning,
banged out a single which brought home a run in the 7th inning and laced a
single which scored a run in the 8th inning. Pittsburg bats were very
productive in the 1st inning with 3 runs on 3 hits, the 6th inning with 3
runs and the 7th inning when they had 3 runs on 4 hits. The Pittsburg
offense smacked the New York pitching staff around, scoring in 7 of the 9
innings.

The win was credited to Doheny(9-6) who went the whole way allowing 5 runs. Al
Maul(0-2) was the losing pitcher. He got hit hard, allowing 14 hits and 3
walks in 5 innings.
