Jim Lemon blasted 2 homeruns and had 7 RBI as the Chicago-NL Cubs clobbered
the outmatched Pittsburgh Pirates, 17 to 5.

Lemon had a great day at the plate.  He had the crowd cheering his every move.
He tripled scoring a run in the 2nd inning, blasted a two-run home run in
the 5th inning and rifled a three-run blast in the 7th inning.  Chicago-NL
kept the scorekeepers busy in the 5th inning when they had 4 runs on 4 hits
and the 7th inning which saw them plate 6 runs on 3 hits.  Chicago-NL simply
wore out the Pittsburgh pitching staff, scoring in 6 different innings.

The win went to Mike Garcia(13-11) who allowed 5 runs in 5 innings. Bob
Friend(14-10) took the loss.  He allowed 4 homeruns in 5 innings of work.
