WEB GEMS- Bot 5th: Larry Doyle robbed Jack Quinn of a base hit.

Dick Hoblitzell had 4 hits and 4 RBI and Jack Quinn pitched a complete game as
the New York Giants crushed the Washington Nationals 19 to 4.

The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Hoblitzell. He delivered a base-hit which scored a run in the
1st inning, laced a one-base hit bringing in a run in the 2nd inning, doubled
resulting in a run in the 4th inning and lined a base-hit plating a run in
the 7th inning. New York lit up the scoreboard in the 1st inning which saw
them plate 5 runs on 3 hits and the 7th inning with 8 runs on 9 hits. New
York had 21 hits for the afternoon.

Quinn(10-20) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 4 runs. The loss
was charged to Carl Weilman(6-23). He gave up 9 runs in 4 innings and saw
his ERA jump from 2.90 to 3.18.

'Thankfully we got ourselves a win', Quinn said. 'It's great to be back on
the winning side of things.'
