Chuck Stobbs allowed Robert Baker to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
and Vic Power slammed a homerun and had 7 RBI as the New York-AL Yankees
crushed the Cleveland Indians 11 to 1.
Power was unconscious all evening. The Cleveland fans hated to see him
approaching the batter's box as he just kept delivering base hits! He lost
the ball over the fence for three runs in the 1st inning, doubled scoring two
baserunners in the 3rd inning and singled bringing home two baserunners in
the 5th inning. New York-AL rapped out 13 hits for the night.
The victory was credited to Stobbs(10-15) who went the distance, allowing 1
run. Paul Foytack(8-14) suffered the loss. He allowed New York-AL 10 runs in
6 innings of work.
