Ray Jablonski ripped 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Pittsburgh Pirates bested
the Washington Nationals 8 to 6 at Griffith Stadium.

Jablonski led the offense for Pittsburgh.  He smashed a two-run homer in the
4th inning and launched a three-run homer in the 8th inning.  Pittsburgh
rapped out 11 hits for the afternoon.  

Bob Turley(3-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 3 innings. Bobby
Shantz(2-1) was tagged with the loss.  He allowed 3 homeruns in 9 innings of
work.
